Stay-stitch 1/8 inch from the edge for stability.
Please read Preparing Your Quilt Top. It gives some general tips to make sure your quilt top is ready to load onto the quilt frame for longarm quilting.
Quilt preparation includes:
piecing, trimming to size or squaring the backing fabric;
pressing the quilt top, trimming threads, repairing loose seams; or
stay-stitching the quilt top (when there are seams along the outer edges).
If you would prefer Sweet Gum Quilting to prepare your quilt top or backing fabric the minimum cost is $50.00.
